# DSB - Example 1

In this example, since the Affiliate Status check is negative, the user will not be compensated for the Direct Sales Commission.

## Initial situation:

#### **Structure**:

#### **Rank**:

We reference the "[Regular Rank Calculation 2](/compensation-plan/business-logic/ranks/rank-calculation/regular-rank-calculation/rrc-example-2.md)" and "[Ranks Table](/compensation-plan/business-logic/ranks.md)"

#### **Qualifying Period:**

This calculation is based on the following assumed [Qualifying Period](#qualifying-period).\
\
**Start**: 01.01.2023 00:00 EST\
**End**: 31.01.2023 23:59 EST\
\
**Cutoff Time**: 14.02.2023 23:59 EST\
**Distribution Day**: 15.02.2023

#### Miscellaneous:

Any invoice that has \
\- the issue date between 01.01.2023 00:00 EST to 31.01.2023 23:59 EST \
\- the status: "completed", "resolved", "overpayment"\
will be considered for the calculation.\
\
The [Affiliate Status](/compensation-plan/business-logic/payout/payout-qualification/affiliate-status.md) must be Active at the snapshot time of 31.01.2023 23:59 EST \
The [Customer Ratio](/compensation-plan/business-logic/payout/payout-qualification/customer-ratio.md) must be meet at the snapshot time of 31.01.2023 23:59 EST \
\
Calculation time will be done up to the [Cutoff Time](/compensation-plan/business-logic/qualifying-period/calculation-cutoff-time.md) ( 14.02.2023 23:59 EST ), any changes after the  will be ignored.

## Affiliate Status Check:

The latest expiration date for any Affiliate Subscription is: 27.12.2022 15:23 EST\
Since that is before the snapshot time of: 31.01.2023 23:59 EST \
The [Affiliate Status](/compensation-plan/business-logic/payout/payout-qualification/affiliate-status.md) is considered not active.\
\
When the [Affiliate Status](/compensation-plan/business-logic/payout/payout-qualification/affiliate-status.md)is not active, no further Direct Sales Bonus Calculations will be done for this user.

## Result:

Since the [Affiliate Status](/compensation-plan/business-logic/payout/payout-qualification/affiliate-status.md) check is negative, no Direct Sales Bonus Calculations  will be done for this user.\
Even if he would meet all other [qualifications](/compensation-plan/business-logic/payout/payout-qualification.md) for commission, he will not receive commission.<br>
